Low-income housing is becoming more challenging in the Treasure Valley. New Americans are initially placed in affordable housing by their resettlement agency. For that first 3-8 months clients receive monthly stipends to help pay for food, rent, etc. while they find work. Once those funds end, money can still be tight. Volunteers are a valuable bridge to help New Americans connect with rental resources. Or on the opposite spectrum, New Americans who are interested in purchasing their first home.
